Joh 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
Joh 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
MANIFEST: G1718, emphanizō, em-fan-id'-zo
From G1717; to exhibit (in person) or disclose (by words): - appear, declare (plainly), inform, (will) manifest, shew, signify.
There is only one task that Jesus gave to His disciples and to ALL BELIEVERS. Despite what you may have been taught, that one task is NOT the great commission!
Jesus told His disciples to tarry in Jerusalem UNTIL they received the baptism by the Holy Spirit!
Luk 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
The Churches GREATEST PROBLEM is not sin! The Churches greatest problem is SELF confidence!
Too much of the Church is working according to its own ideas and its own power. We all have a call on our life, but too often it is NOT from God.
Amo 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
Because we do not patiently wait on the Lord, we busy ourselves with our own projects, and on things WE think are important, and we completely shut God out of our too busy schedules. Therefore, God’s plans, and God’s purposes are ignored, and the wicked PERISH.
Jer 23:19 Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.
Jer 23:20 The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.
Jer 23:21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
Jer 23:22 But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
I have been writing lately about the secret societies and the ancient fraternities that currently control the world, but they are a pale shadow of God’s true HIDDEN BRETHREN.
Psa 133:1 A Song of Degrees. See now! what is so good, or what so pleasant, as for brethren to dwell together?
Psa 133:2 It is as ointment on the head, that ran down to the beard, even the beard of Aaron; that ran down to the fringe of his clothing.
Psa 133:3 As the dew of Aermon, that comes down on the mountains of Sion: for there, the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for ever. Brenton
The anointing oil of the High Priest went from His head to the fringe of His clothing, and it typifies the Holy Spirit coming down from the head of the High Priest, Jesus Christ, and then flowing to cover His entire body, His Church. However, too many in the Church do not think they need God’s anointing before they begin serving God. Perhaps they are simply clueless. They do not understand the great privilege and honor God is offering to us, His children. If a person takes ANY position, whether it is prophet, preacher, teacher, or deacon, without God’s anointing, they are placing themselves in a terribly dangerous position.
There is a very educational story in the Book of 1st Kings about the King of Israel, Jeroboam, who dares to build his own alter and he also dares to act as his own priest and make an offering. God sends a prophet from Judah to rebuke the false altar and to chastise the haughty king.
1Ki 13:3 And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the LORD hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.
1Ki 13:4 And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.
1Ki 13:5 The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD.
Above all things, we must WAIT on the Lord and His timing. It is a sure sign of pride, and a haughty spirit, when a person decides to serve God without first receiving His anointing and His direction.
Jer 23:21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
The true Sons of God are hidden away in their secret place, quietly fellowshipping with God in the wilderness. They are patiently and humbly waiting for God’s timing, and they desire only to hear God’s WORD. God has a secret plan that will be revealed in these last days, and God has hidden sons and daughters that He will call forth before the great and terrible day of the Lord.
Isa 43:5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
Isa 43:6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;
Isa 43:7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
God truly loves the world and the people in the world, and He is not going to let the people perish without waging a great battle for lost souls. Although it appears that Satan has everything sewn up from a purely natural perspective, we know from the Bible that he has already lost the war.
God makes it clear that He is going to pull out all the stops in order to save as many lost souls as possible before the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Joe 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
Joe 2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
Joe 2:30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
Joe 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
There have been many interpretations of these verses in the Book of Joel, more often than not prophecy students interpret them to mean there will be a great war, perhaps even a nuclear war before the day of the LORD. Let me propose an alternate interpretation. There is another story in the Bible that almost everybody is familiar with, that is the story of the Exodus of the children of Israel out of Egypt.
Exo 19:18 And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
The PRESENCE of the LORD is associated with FIRE and SMOKE throughout much of the Bible. The LORD promised to protect the children of Israel in the wilderness and the sign of His presence was a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.
Exo 13:21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
Exo 13:22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
One of the most important prophetic Books in the Bible is the Song of Solomon. According to Jewish tradition, the Song is about the love of God for the nation of Israel, but according to Christian tradition, the Song is about the love of Christ for His bride, the Church. I believe both traditions are correct!
Israel was, is, and always will be… the Church. The separation of Israel from the Church is sheer nonsense. Israel is the Church and the Church is Israel. The best way to understand the Israel of the Old Testament is to compare her to a young girl, and God is constantly comparing Israel to a young girl!
Eze 16:22 And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.
Eze 16:60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.
The Apostle Paul in his classic discussion of grace versus the law, also compares those under the law, Israel, as not yet reaching adulthood, while those under grace are mature, and the children of God
Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Gal 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 4:1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
Gal 4:2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
Gal 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
The best way to understand the Church is to view her as Israel full grown, a woman ready to marry her bridegroom. Eventually Israel, after the flesh, will also reach full maturity and seek the GRACE of God! Let’s get back to the Song of Solomon. The Song has three main characters: the young Shulamite maid, and two men, Solomon and the Shepherd, who are both attempting to woo the young maiden.
Son 3:6 Who is this that cometh out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?
Who is coming out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke?
We know from other details in the Song that Solomon and the Shulamite maid are both located in Jerusalem. Solomon is complimenting the maid profusely in the Song and offering to be her lover but the maid is saving her love for the Shepherd in the wilderness, and He is waiting for the maid to join Him there.
Son 7:10 I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me.
Son 7:11 Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages.
Son 7:12 Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves.
All Christians face the same choice as the Shulamite maid. We can accept the love of the world, and all of its pleasures, but we will always be one of many competing for the world’s favors. Or, we can accept the open invitation by Jesus Christ to join Him in the wilderness and enjoy intimacy with Him.
Son 5:5 I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock.
Son 5:6 I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.
Son 5:7 The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me.
The Shepherd is entreating the maid to join Him in the wilderness, because He cannot be found in the City, no matter how hard we search for Him there. He is jealous and will not share our affections with the world. As long as we insist on loving the Shepherd, but staying in the world, all we can expect is persecution and wounds from the city watchmen. However, if we turn our backs on the world, and join the Shepherd in the wilderness, we can enjoy true intimacy, and his power, protection and love, like a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, will be evident in our life.
Son 2:1 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
Son 2:2 As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
Son 2:3 As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.
Son 2:4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.
The maid compares the Shepherd to an apple tree in the forest, providing her shade and sweet fruit. If we want to enjoy real intimacy with Jesus Christ, we MUST turn our backs on the world, and join HIM in the WILDERNESS!
Heb 13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
Heb 13:13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
Heb 13:14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
Heb 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
