Heb 11:31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
FAITH: G4102, pistis, pis'-tis
From G3982; persuasion, that is, credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly constancy in such profession; by extension the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself: - assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity.
In my last article I told you that God always requires us to DO something if we believe. If we believe something is true, that belief will always alter our conduct. Rahab BELIEVED that Israel was on God’s side and that completely altered her course of action and it also completely altered her life.
Jos 2:9 And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
The Book of James uses Rahab as an example of how our faith is always manifested by corresponding action.
Jas 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Jas 2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
Jas 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
WORKS: G2041, ergon, er'-gon
From ἔργω ergō (a primary but obsolete word; to work); toil (as an effort or occupation); by implication an act: - deed, doing, labour, work.
There has been a controversy about faith versus works since the very beginning of the Church Age. If you do anything to prepare for potential trials in your life there will always be people around you who will shake their heads and say, “Oh, ye of little faith.” They believe that they are so much more spiritual because they do not “worry” about the future.
If you tell them that bad times are coming and that they should start preparing, they nod their heads knowingly and say, “God will provide.” I also believe God will provide, BUT I also believe that we MUST hear God and we MUST be obedient to what He tells us.
God told Noah to build an ark. The Book of Hebrews says that Noah, by faith, built the ark, and thereby condemned the world. Rahab, by faith, hid the two spies, and thereby saved herself AND her family. I do not know how many people Noah or Rahab warned, but I guarantee that ONLY the people who listened to them and DID what God told them to survived. Noah and Rahab must have been convincing enough to save their own families and I pray that I will also be convincing when I warn people of how bad times are going to get. God does not want you to be fearful, but He does want you to be prepared!
If you have knowledge of the Bible, you know that when times get hard, and when the enemy comes in like a flood, God begins to take action. Prophets begin to show up, angels begin appearing to people, Jesus Christ Himself appears to the saints, and councils them concerning the actions they must take. These next fourteen (14) years are going to be the start of the WORST time in the history of the world.
Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
These next few years will also be the start of the BEST time in the history of the world! More people are going to be saved during these next few years then during all the rest of history combined.
Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
Rev 7:10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
If you have been reading my articles, you know that I believe that God has already started to bring His plans for this age to a conclusion. The saints of God have crossed the Jordan River. They have dedicated themselves to obey God, and they are going to begin the conquest of the Promised Land. They have renounced any and all trust in the flesh. When God and His saints begin to take action in the SPIRIT realm, there will be a reaction in the PHYSICAL realm.
If you have not been baptized in the Holy Spirit, you MUST diligently seek HIM. Jesus only commanded us to do a few things: 1) Jesus commanded that we be baptized in water. 2) Jesus commanded that we take communion. 3) Jesus commanded that we seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit. 4) Jesus commanded that we love the brethren.
When Jesus said knock and keep knocking, seek and keep seeking, or ask and keep asking, He was NOT talking about asking for a jet or a stretch limo. Jesus was talking about asking for something far, far more precious. He was talking about asking for the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Luk 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Luk 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Luk 11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
Luk 11:12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
Luk 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the HOLY SPIRIT to them that ask him?
In the Book of Ruth, we see that Ruth pursued Boaz, not the other way around. Boaz was a type of Christ and Ruth was a type of the Church. The HOLY SPIRIT IS THE SPIRIT OF JESUS CHRIST!
2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Ruth is a perfect example of the saints of God. Before Ruth met Boaz, she was absolutely destitute, but after she was married to Boaz, she was completely taken care of and at rest. Ruth PURSUED Boaz, and we must PURSUE the Holy Spirit.
1Co 3:21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
1Co 3:22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
1Co 3:23 And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.
I expect something dramatic is going to happen on the 28th of Nissan this year or May 6th, 2016, because it is the anniversary of the fall of Jericho. It marks the beginning of the end for this world’s Babylonian system. I expect that whatever will happen, it will send the world’s economy into a period of turmoil.
Jesus said these last days would be similar to a woman about to give birth. She experiences periods of increasing pain and distress that are interspersed with shorter and shorter periods of calm. The key to survival is getting close to Jesus Christ and staying close. There are a few simple steps you can take during the periods of calm that may help you cope more easily with the periods of turmoil that are coming.
There is something the rescue community calls the “rule of 3”: Most healthy people can survive 3 minutes without AIR; 3 hours in inclement weather without SHELTER; 3 days without WATER; and 3 weeks without FOOD.
AIR: After the Sumatra earthquake in 2004 many people in Indonesia reported that they saw animals fleeing for HIGH GROUND minutes before the tsunami arrived – very few animal bodies were found afterward. Over 225,000 people were killed by the tsunami, mainly by DROWNING!
SHELTER: Invest in sleeping bags and a tent large enough for you and your family. People have been living in tents for thousands of years and they can keep you fairly protected from the elements in nearly all conditions…even below zero temperatures. You also might look up a “ROCKET STOVE”, you can build a small one for a few dollars. (Look on Youtube). Learn how to make an outdoors fire. (Look on Youtube).
WATER: Buy a pound of “POOL SHOCK” for about $10. One (1) level teaspoon of at least 68% hypochlorite (pool shock) can turn a gallon of water into a gallon of Clorox, which can purify 100 gallons of water. You can also build a 5 gallon water filter for about $50.00 dollars. (Look on Youtube).
FOOD: Buy canned food…mainly canned MEAT (tuna, sardines, chicken, spam, etc.). Canned food can last years past the expiration date if they are not damaged, and you NEED fat and protein to stay healthy.
Pro 22:3 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.
Remember that Noah was a prepper and so was Joseph. Preparing for what God has told us is coming is an act of faith!
2Pe 3:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2Pe 3:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
2Pe 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
2Pe 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
2Pe 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
2Pe 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
2Pe 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
