There are three (3) stages of Christian maturity as illustrated by the Tabernacle of Moses.
HOLY OF HOLIES
Ark of Covenant
Praying in Tongues
The tabernacle was divided into three different areas:
1) First was the OUTER COURT where the altar of sacrifice and the brass laver were located.
The first stage represents our initial “salvation” experience after we believe and acknowledging the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
The first stage is “manifested” by our public confession that Jesus Christ is “LORD” AND by the new saint “believing” that they ARE the righteousness of God.
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
2) Second was the HOLY PLACE where the table of shew bread, altar of incense, and lampstand were located. The second stage represents a period of “fellowship” with Jesus Christ (God).
We fellowship with Jesus Christ (God) by “communicating” with Him.
Communication consists of three parts: a) Meditating on God’s Word is illustrated by the table of showbread, which holds the “shewbread and wine”.
Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
b) Praying in tongues is illustrated by the altar of incense, which is taken by the High Priest into the Holy of Holies.
Psa 141:2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
c) Revelation is illustrated by the lampstand, which lights the Holy Place.
Psa 119:105 NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
I will go into detail about this in a later post, but the LORD will begin to communicate with you the more you fellowship with Him in the Holy Place. It is not just you praying and hoping God is listening…God will actually begin talking with you!
3) Third was the HOLY OF HOLIES where the Ark of the covenant was located. The third stage represents the “manifestation” of Jesus Christ to the world through His saints with signs and wonders.
When you enter into the Holy of Holies, you will begin to experience things from God’s perspective and it is dramatically different from how you have ever experienced the world before.
God’s perspective also consists of three parts: a) Supernatural provision is illustrated by the pot of manna. Not only will you be supernaturally provided for but everyone around you will also have their physical needs met.
Luk 22:35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
b) Resurrection power is illustrated by Aaron’s rod. You and everyone around you will begin experiencing supernatural health.
Act 5:16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
c) Grace is illustrated by the ten commandments that God gave to Moses. The Law above everything else shows us God is merciful because none of were able to keep the Law. God commanded Moses to place the commandments under His MERCY SEAT.
Exo 25:16 And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee.
This post is a broad picture of the maturation process of the sons of God. I will go into more detail about the process and the experiences of the son of God in later posts.
By the way, “son of God” is a term of art, it includes women as well as men. All people who are IN Jesus Christ are sons of God.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
